Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - New Jersey on a Path to participate

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are a new tax preferred health insurance payment option created by the federal government in 2003 to help individuals save for future qualified medical and retiree health expenses on a tax-free basis. In order for HSA's to be offered by employers in New Jersey, the New Jersey legislature must pass a new enabling law. Such a law, A-3440, was released from Committee May 12, meaning it may now be considered by the whole assembly.

An excellent HSA resource can be found at the US Treasury website: All About HSA's.
